Patient Safety and Quality Initiatives
Welcome to our new section on Patient Safety and Quality Initiatives. Every patient coming through our doors depends on the many safety and quality initiatives underway and it is our pleasure to showcase the projects and work we are doing to make our hospital programs and services the best they can be.
The Patient Safety section profiles a number of initiatives currently under way. This section will be ever-changing as we incorporate the latest ‘best practices' from Ontario and beyond. Our updated Infection Prevention and Control practices are listed here as well as a number of treatments built from the latest evidence.
The Quality Initiatives section contains information on the many ways we build quality into our day-to-day practice. Everything from patient satisfaction surveys to reducing clinical clutter has an impact on the quality with which our hospitals deliver care. We participate in accreditation to validate that our quality initiatives meet the standards set by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. The statistics and data we compile are used to substantiate our current practices and to help us target areas for improvement on an ongoing basis.
